Background and Goals
- Existing plant design capacity was 1.8 MGD.
- Existing treatment process (Rotating Biological Contactors) was inefficient and required extensive maintenance.
- Main project goal was to reduce operation and maintenance costs by upgrading treatment options.
Features
- Construction of Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) facility with new screening, grit removal and ultraviolet disinfection facilities.
- Construction while maintaining effective existing operations.
Outcomes
- Completed upgrade of plant to process maximum wet weather flow rates of 4.0 MGD.
- Successfully completed construction on opposite side of creek from existing site while maintaining quality of effluent from existing facilities.
- New facilities are producing excellent effluent quality.
